About LowCool
Our Story
LowCool started as an idea between two friends—both born and raised in Porirua in the 80's. We wanted to stay in our hometown and work, so we decided to create our own local art project.
The name LOWCOOL, meaning "local," came about in 2015 when we opened a small creative workshop space in Porirua Centre. From there, we experimented with different art mediums and slowly expanded on the idea.
In 2016, we opened our first independent retail space and spent the next few years practicing our craft, collaborating with other small businesses, and working with local artists.
Nine years later, we're still creating daily and continuing this journey online. A huge thank you to all our customers over the years for your support—and to those discovering us now, welcome to Lowcool.
